I've only been lucky enough to visit maybe 4 times over the past year - but I'm happy to say that EVERY time I've visited has been fantastic. The ambiance is so relaxing with unique sitting spots to hide away in the back, or sit up front and people watch on the main drag. It's just as good getting items to go though, the espresso is my favorite in town and the flavor syrups aren't lacking or overly sweet and no artificial aftertastes. The pastries rotate and are always divine, even when I venture out of my typical comfort zone. Today I had a cinnamon roll that was the best I've had in years.

First time at Nannie Maes located in downtown Asheboro. My wife ordered a Black Forest cake for my son’s birthday. It’s was a pleasant visit to Nannie Maes, bakery/shop is spotless very clean, staff is very friendly. They have a big verity of delightful sweet treats you can also order coffee, drinks and enjoy them while you’re at the shop, plenty of sitting area. Highly recommended. And the Black Forest cake was delicious one of the best Black Forest we ever had.

An eclectic environment with an eclectic view I often tell myself I'm not a coffee man but as many cafe's as I've been to, I'd be a liar. Nannie Mae's adds a slight twist compared to places in the downtown Asheboro area with it's in house bakery making delicious snacks and desserts almost all the time. On this day that I went, mentally I was completely exhausted. It's been a long month and still have another long one to go. After finally getting changed and leaving the house I had decided to walk in downtown sunset avenue for some fresh air. Unfortunately at this time (2-3pm) the places I normally frequent are closed and honestly I hadn't had Nannie Mae's by my lonesome so what better day other than today to relax. Upon walking in you're greeted with a very open floorplan and immediately to your right your eyes are drawn to the collection of sweets that are behind PSA grade 10 glass and you have to decide which collectibles to consume. Luckily unlike normal PSA grades, you don't have to empty your wallet for the goodies behind the glass. On this day I went for the mushroom and sausage (mini quiche/pie) and a simple salted caramel iced coffee. Another fascinating thing about this place is the seating. I'm one who loves to sit and watch life go by so being able to sit in the window display and watch ongoers go about their day while listening to Joji was an absolute plus. The taste of the food was spiritually healing and the coffee reached within the confines of my soul and threw some sweetness on the troubles that I had going on all while the staff would intermittently check to make sure my experience was as wonderful as possible. Thank you sincerely Nannie Mae's for catering to what I needed on this mentally deficit day. And to your staff for being the absolute best staff possible.

I ordered an 8-inch cake and 26 custom cupcakes for my gender reveal (vanilla cake with strawberry for a girl or vanilla cake with blueberry filling for a boy) i provided "wish" photos and they did the rest. The flavors were beyond anything I expected—moist, rich, perfectly balanced, and truly out of this world. The presentation was stunning and made the reveal feel even more special, far exceeding my expectations. You can tell this bakery puts incredible care and creativity into everything they make. I’m so grateful to have trusted them with such an important moment in my life. If you're looking for desserts that wow both visually and taste-wise, look no further. Absolute perfection! I wish I could give them 100 stars. Ps. It was a girl

These are genuinely the best pastries I’ve ever had. My husband and I shared the angel wing and blueberry popover and both agree they were top tier.

I normally don’t do reviews but this place really stands out to me. Every time I go in there the workers make me feel welcome and makes the place feel like a judgement free zone. As for the way the place looks inside it’s nice and relaxing, love the seating especially for having a nice meet up with a few friends. As for the food I’ve had, all of the cookies, and pies, and even the lemonade (which I say is the best lemonade I’ve had in my life) are delicious. I highly recommend people try this place out.

Stopped by on the way to the Zoo and was glad to try their barista special! It was an amazing Churro-inspired coffee with a Snickdoodle cookie to go with it. My daughter seen in the photo was devouring their double-chocolate toffee cookie. It’s a must-stop shop while in town. Owner and staff are super friendly.
